Reincarnation: Familial Relationships
by Helen Wambach
We meet someone for the first time and we are instant friends. We shake hands with a stranger and turn away with an unexplained feeling of dislike. Are we just reacting to such clues to similar tastes as the way the stranger is dressed, the expression on his face? Or does it go deeper; are these feelings echoes from the buried memories of our past lives?
I devised a set of questions to see how my subjects responded to the possibility that people in their lives now were known to them in past lives.
Fully 87 percent of all subjects responding to any of the questions [under hypnosis] about their future birth reported that they had known parents, lovers, relatives and friends who were known to them in past lives. Some had more detailed impressions than others, but there was little doubt that my subjects under hypnosis were aware of how they knew people in their lives now from past lives. (more…)

Reincarnation: A Study in Human Evolution
by Theophile Pascal
It will soon be: 1500 years since the decision of the Council of 543 A.D. condemned to oblivion sublime teachings which ought to have been carefully preserved and handed down to future generations as a beacon amid social reefs; teachings that would have uprooted that frightful egoism which threatens to annihilate the world, and instilled patience into the hearts of such as were being crushed beneath the wheel of the cosmic law, by showing them the scales of Justice inclining to the side filled with their iniquities of bygone times; teachings which would have been welcomed by the masses, and the understanding of which would not have called for any lofty intellectual culture.
It was one of the greatest misfortunes that could have befallen the races of the West, more especially the European, that they were thus deprived for centuries of this indispensable knowledge. We look upon it as a duty, following on so many others, to offer it anew, this time in the clear, logical, illuminating form presented in theosophic teachings. The necessity thereof is all the more imperative when we consider the growth of skepticism and materialism amongst the more intellectual classes, whilst the mass of the people have forsaken their blind faith only to succumb to religious indifference. Reincarnation: Answering Unanswered Questions ~ Part II
by Irving S. Cooper
The chief purpose of reincarnation is education. To this end we are born again and again on earth, not because of any external pressure, but because we, as souls, desire to grow. The driving-power at the back of reincarnation, which brings us to earth again, is the thirst for experience, the desire for knowledge, the yearning to mingle in the throb and rush of physical existence. To many people, whose lives here have been rather difficult, these desires seem inconceivable. The reason is that satiety kills out desire; a man who has just eaten a hearty dinner has no desire to think of other meals. In the same way, at the end of an incarnation, it is to be expected that we should have little desire for rebirth. Furthermore, our waking consciousness is only a portion of our actual consciousness, and our deeper selves often realize the need of that for which our outer selves do not care. This is the case with reincarnation; the physical consciousness, limited in outlook to the narrow horizons of a single earth-life, does not desire to be reborn, but the soul consciousness, having a splendid goal in view, is anxious to return. Death And After
by Manly P. Hall
LIFE is more powerful then life and death itself” ~ by unknown
While in Manila I chanced to walk a short distance out into the country and stood for some time watching a slow-moving, mud-covered water bull dragging an antique plow through the ooze of a partly submerged rice field. Hour after hour the great animal waded through the mud, now and again shaking its massive head to free itself from the tantalizing swarms of flies. Behind the bull walked an aged Filipino, his tattered trousers rolled above his knees and his homespun garments bespattered with ooze and grime. To wade day after day through the half-inundated paddies constituted the life of the water bull; to follow with his hands upon the plow constituted the life of the man. (more…)

Yogic Philosophy: Discourse On Spiritual Evolution
by William Walker Atkinson
The beautiful doctrine of Spiritual Evolution, that gem in the diadem of the Yogic Philosophy is sadly misunderstood and misinterpreted, even by many who are its friends. The mass of uninformed people confuse it with the crudest ideas of the ignorant races of Asia and Africa – believe that it teaches that the souls of men descend into the bodies of the lower animals after death. And under the guise of high teachings regarding Reincarnation, many promulgate theories holding that the soul of man is bound to the wheel of human rebirth, and must live in body after body – whether it will or not – until certain great cycles are past, when the race moves on to another planet. All of these misconceptions, however, are based upon the real truth – they are the truth, but not the whole truth. It is true that the soul of a brutal, selfish, bestial man, after death, will be drawn by the force of its own desires toward rebirth in the body of some of the lower and more beast-like races of man – it has failed in its class work, and has been sent back to a lower grade. But the soul that has once reached the stage of even primitive Manhood, never can sink back into the plane of lower animal life. As bestial as it may be, it still has acquired something that the animal lacks, and that something it can never lose. And likewise, although the race – as a race – must wait until certain periods are reached before it may move onward, yet the individual who has risen beyond the need of immediate rebirth, is not compelled to reincarnate as a man of the present stage of development, but may wait until the race “catches up” to him, as it were, when he may join it in its upward swing, the intervening period being spent either in the higher planes of the Astral World or in conscious temporary sojourn in other material spheres, helping in the great work of the evolution of all Life. How Past Life Exploration Can Heal Your Life ~ Part IV
by Denise Linn
Relationships
Perhaps more than any other clue, the dynamics of your relationships can offer powerful insights into who you were. We tend to subconsciously and symbolically recreate events from our far past, especially from those experiences that were never resolved. Every reenactment is a way to heal those unsettled situations. For example, when Moses and John were growing up, they were next-door neighbors. They were friends but Moses always tended to resent John, and for some reason John put up with it. One summer the two teens decided to go on a canoe trip together. As they paddled, their canoe overturned and Moses was caught in the current. John, at great effort – and almost at the expense of his own life – was able to rescue Moses.
From that point on their relationship almost magically transformed, and Moses no longer resented his friend. John later discovered that in a past life, they’d both been native South Americans. On a canoe trip during that lifetime, Moses had fallen out of the boat but John didn’t try to save him. Moses had drowned, which caused the lingering resentment in the present time. Reliving the original event shifted the dynamics between them. (Remember, it can be a symbolic or an actual reenactment of the situation. For example, if Moses felt that he was drowning financially and John had saved him, that also might have balanced the original karma.) (more…)

Reincarnation: Answering Unanswered Questions
by Irving S. Cooper
A century or so ago when, as the outcome of the struggle between science and theology, unreasoning faith in tradition and dogma began to give way to research and reason, a furious questioning of life and of the world arose. Nothing was exempt. The current ideas of God and the soul, of revelation and destiny, were torn to fragments as thoroughly as every speculative conception of the phenomenal world. It was a period of intellectual revolution, and the thinkers of the race, exulting in their freedom, determined to destroy utterly every falsehood that had weighed them down. Unfortunately, in the hurry of destruction, they cast aside many a truth.
Materialism was the inevitable outcome of such a reaction, and at first it did seem able to answer satisfactorily the questions propounded. People hopefully persuaded themselves that all things and all events in the universe, including the workings of the mind, could easily and logically be explained in terms of matter. It was believed that there was nothing in the universe but force and matter and the laws governing them. It was joyfully affirmed that the old beliefs, which had kept civilization so long in confinement, were dead forever. God was a myth, the soul a fancy, destiny the grinding of the world-machine, religion a tissue of childish legends interwoven with more or less wholesome ethics. And so, on the morning of this new intellectual day, rationalistic science overthrew its ancient antagonist, theology, and strode on to further conquests. (more…)

How Past Life Exploration Can Heal Your Life ~ Part III

Music
A song or musical score has the ability to transport us back to the time when we first heard it. A forgotten memory can be conjured simply by listening to a piece that was being played during the event. Just as the music can help us evoke memories from this life, it can also spur remembrances of past lives.
Matt used to always hum the fiddle song “Turkey in the Straw” to himself. He never knew where he’d heard it, where it was from, or why he even liked it until he was at a gold-rush museum and realized that the same song was playing in the background. As he listened, he had spontaneous – and emotional – memories of panning for gold during the California gold rush in the mid-1800s. (more…)

Reincarnation: Life Returns Unceasingly
by Rendol Snell
The old conception of the Creator as a big, superior kind of man, who spoke face to face with wise men of old, telling them the plan of creation and destiny of the world, has been outgrown, so that it is the privilege of any person to investigate for himself the great problem, “What am I?”
Science has been making great strides to solve the mysteries of nature but there yet remain many problems unsolved. One of these is the origin and nature of life and the important question of life after death. A few paragraphs here will be devoted to explaining the theory or, better, hypothesis of reincarnation and some problems connected therewith.
To put the matter in simple words, the writer believes that life returns again and again on the earth. Not only human life but all life.
This theory, under the name “transmigration,” was taught by Buddhism in a crude form and is believed in by at least one-third of the population of the earth, who are more or less under the influence of Buddhist teaching. Like all great fundamental ideas, there are perhaps few parts of the earth where the idea has not been present in some dim fashion. (more…)

The Lost Chord Of Christianity
by Joe Fisher
Put not off from day to day and from cycle to cycle, in the belief that ye will succeed in obtaining the mysteries when ye return to the world in another cycle.” – Jesus Of Nazareth (From the Gnostic Scirpture Pistis Sophia)
Everyone knows the annals of religious history are stained with blood and corruption. Few appreciate, however, that the ruthless expulsion of reincarnation from Christian thought and theology has left some of the deepest and most shameful stains of all time. Time has since worked its healing of forgetfulness and today most Christians are unaware that reincarnation was ever considered seriously by the church. But the fact remains that before Christianity became a vehicle for the imperial ambitions of Roman emperors, rebirth was widely accepted among the persecuted faithful.
Taught by a number of early church fathers and treasured by the Christian Gnostics, a movement in the apostolic tradition dedicated to preserving and promulgating the esoteric teachings of Jesus Christ, reincarnation was seen to be consistent with Old and New Testament scripture and complementary to the idea of personal salvation through Jesus Christ. From the earliest days of primitive Christianity, repeated earthly existences were a fact of life to many supplicants so long as they soldiered on in the quest for enlightenment. Yet they also believed that the monotonous cycle of birth and death could be transcended through the inspiration of Jesus Christ whose promptings towards spiritual perfection were able to exalt the individual to reconciliation with God and relief from the burden of the body. Development Of The Greater Self
by Manly P. Hall
Reincarnation is controlled primarily by the law of karma, a manifestation of the universal law of cause and effect. The personality is subject to the various laws governing thought, emotion, energy, and form. For this reason it is never possible for the personality to escape the consequences set up by actions in the various substances of which [the many reincarnated] bodies are composed.
In the Gnostic school the permanent entity is called Anthropos, or the man. The incarnating ego which is emanated by the entity is designated Anthropos Son of Anthropos, the man that is the son of the man. The ego is called by the Neo-Platonists the “summit of the personality,” the self which endures for the span of one life. (more…)

How Past Life Exploration Can Heal Your Life
by Denise Linn
In order to heal and empower your present life, it’s helpful to first know who and what you’ve been in previous incarnations. Past life exploration is a highly effective method for traveling deep into the inner recesses of your mind to the place where memories of all your prior existences are stored. It can be a direct path to the soul. As you uncover and heal old wounds from the past—and release self-limiting beliefs—you’ll begin to understand your true purpose and place in the universe.
Is My Past Life Real?
When you embark on a regression, images and memories surface—sometimes in vivid detail. There are numerous documented cases of convincingly accurate details being recalled during past life regressions, which are later validated through historical research. Participants of my seminars have also written to me and explained that they’ve investigated the lives that they saw during group regressions . . . and discovered that their visions were factual. However, most past lives haven’t been recorded making it impossible to find written proof that your experiences before this lifetime were real. (more…)

Reincarnation Concept – Becoming Widespread
by Ruth Norman
Now, due to another book just received in the mail titled, “Here and Hereafter”, by Ruth Montgomery, (published by Coward McCann, New York) which is similar in content to various others being published in these ‘latter days’, and because some students have written to us regarding such writings, they feel here are similar teachings to that which UN.AR.I.U.S. teaches. It may be helpful to point up to the sincere seeker that only a slight similarity exists in such comparisons. We are always glad to see more and more of this type of publication come to light (past life realizations), for they are all healthy signs of the times. These people are seeking; they are all more or less beginning to agree with the fact that man lives again and again, that he reincarnates into many different embodiments, that he is, in the present, the result of his past acts, deeds and thoughts, but the vital, and ever-present, and inescapable scientific principles of how and why, he does not know. These important basic concepts are missing! It is of little benefit to read these beliefs or speculations if we cannot learn why and how! We can resolve nothing within our consciousness unless it can be followed through in principle and sequence—cause and effect! (more…)

Six Cases Of Validated Reincarnation In The Netherlands
by Titus Rivas
IT IS INCREASINGLY CLEAR that reincarnation is here to stay as a rational explanatory concept within the theorizing of parapsychology and psychical research. A recent landmark for reincarnation research is the reporting of Western ‘cases of the reincarnation type’ (CORTs) resembling those found in non-Western countries such as India or Sri Lanka. Some normal hypotheses, which seem already displaced in many Asian cases, can often entirely be excluded in a Western context. For instance, the claim of children to remember previous lives rarely fulfills a clear social function amongst Europeans, Americans, Australians or other Westerners. Few parents of Western children who claim to remember past lives, strongly believe in reincarnation prior to their children’s reports. This makes the sociological hypothesis for most Western CORTs even more far-fetched than for the average non-Western case. (more…)
