Mind-Blowing Experiment Confirms Reality Doesn’t Exist Until It Is Observed

New-Quantum-Physics-Experiment-main-4-postby Anna LeMind

According to a well-known theory in quantum physics, a particle’s behavior changes depending on whether there is an observer or not. It basically suggests that reality is a kind of illusion and exists only when we are looking at it. Numerous quantum experiments were conducted in the past and showed that this indeed might be the case.

Now, physicists at the Australian National University have found further evidence for the illusory nature of reality. They recreated the John Wheeler’s delayed-choice experiment and confirmed that reality doesn’t exist until it is measured, at least on the atomic scale. (more…)

The Physics of Consciousness

Physics-of-Consciousness-main-2-postby Guest Talk

INTRO– Of all fields of study that have evolved in the last 200 years none can be said to be as confusing, complex and mysterious as physics. In our attempts to understand the universe we have observed, measured, quantified, pushed, pulled, dropped, exploded and done almost every conceivable action to almost every conceivable material we know of, in order to understand our world and our universe.

Classical physics’ greatest contributor was Isaac Newton, he discovered so many of the laws of physics that it came to be known as Newtonian physics. However, early in the 20th century it was discovered through experimentation that some of these laws of classical physics were not valid when working at a sub-atomic level.

Some experiments that were performed may lead one to believe the world is completely different than what our senses, our “common sense” would tell us. I am one such person. And I would like to share with you some of these experiments and to offer my “theory of everything”. (more…)

The Forgotten Genius of Townsend Brown And His Flying Saucer Technology

Townsend in labby Gaston Burridge (1958)

Townsend-Brown-4-postThomas Townsend Brown has been flying strange metal saucer-like discs of his own secret design and make for more than 30 years – some big ones too, up to 30 inches in diameter!

Mostly, Brown has flown his discs in good old common air. The discs are tethered to a mast or pole and the thin, double-saucer-like things fly a circle around and around the mast in free flight.

Only a slight hum is audible as they fly. In the dark they glow with an eerie lavender light, revealing their motive power which is a kind of electricity.

Many scientists and engineers have watched these discs fly. Under their breath, and sometimes out loud, most of them have said the force which makes Brown’s discoids spin is one which every high-school physics student knows about – “Electric Wind” – and not a new principle Brown has discovered at all! Vortex Of Energy

Vortex-of-Energy-main-4-psotby David Ash

“I believe matter itself is just spin.” ~ Eric Laithwaite

Indian mystics in the pre-scientific era were able to probe the atom with supernormal powers. The first authoritative and systematic exposition of this practice by Yogis was written about 400 B.C. in the ‘Sutras of Patanjali’ where the physiological and psychological results of meditation were described in detail. In Aphorism 3.26 it states: pravrtty-aloka-nyasat suksma-vyavahita-viprakrsta-jnanam e.g. knowledge of the small, the hidden and the distant can be acquired by directing the light of super-physical faculties called in Sanskrit siddhis. The ability to perceive the small, the distant and the hidden is called the anima siddhi which is developed in the practice of advanced yoga.1, 2

In an altered state of consciousness the Yogi exercising the siddhi could experience visual images of objects too small for human sight to discern. The experience was of shrinking consciousness commensurate to the size of the objects being viewed. Through exercise of the anima siddhi, yogis perceived the smallest particles in matter as vortices of energy.

With the anima siddhi, Yogis in ancient India saw quantum spin setting up fundamental particles of matter and giving rise to the properties we treat as material. They realised vortex motion was the source of the illusion of the material world which they called Maya. From their insight into the atom Yogis knew that people who believed the material world to be real were deluded; they were hoodwinked by spin. (more…)

Breaking The Time-Space Barrier

Breaking-The-Time-Space-Barrier-main-4-postby David Ash & Peter Hewitt

An American photographer was in India and wanted to photograph Sai Baba with his sophisticated camera. However when he came to take the photographs, he was bitterly disappointed to find that he had insufficient film. The particular film he needed could not be obtained in that part of India. Sai Baba waved his hand in the air and manifested two rolls of the special film. The delighted American loaded his camera and proceeded to take the photographs of Sai Baba, who is unmistakable in appearance with his bushy hair and long flowing orange robes.

On his return to the USA, the photographer dropped the film into his usual supplier to be developed. When he collected the prints, the man behind the counter remarked on the pictures of Sai Baba, saying: “Why, that man was in here a few weeks ago and bought two rolls of film”.

There are numerous accounts of Sai Baba visiting people in one place when it is known that he is somewhere else. This extraordinary ability to be in two places at the same time is known as bilocation. Bilocation is by no means unique to Sai Baba. Known in India as a siddhi, it is one of a number of remarkable powers traditionally ascribed to advanced yogis. (more…)

There Is No Time – Only Now

No Such Thing As Time main 4 postby Josh Richardson

Everything exists in the present moment and it’s a fundamental principle of the Universe that many of our scientists are still trying to grasp. Time does not actually exist and Quantum Theory proves it. There are things that are closer to you in time, and things that are further away, just as there are things that are near or far away in space. But the idea that time flows past you is just as absurd as the suggestion that space does.

The trouble with time started a century ago, when Einstein’s special and general theories of relativity demolished the idea of time as a universal constant. One consequence is that the past, present, and future are not absolutes. Einstein’s theories also opened a rift in physics because the rules of general relativity (which describe gravity and the large-scale structure of the cosmos) seem incompatible with those of quantum physics (which govern the realm of the tiny).

What is Consciousness? What is Existence?

What-Is-Existence-main-4-postOp Ed by Guest Author

So what is existence has been a question pondered on by many a scientist and philosopher and of course everyone has their own opinion so as each man’s opinion is different, existence must be a state of consciousness. “I think therefore I am.”

So what does existence mean to you? What does it mean to me?

To me it means that starting out as this one piece of consciousness condensed currently into a single aware consciousness reacting to light and frequencies of a third dimensional plane that while I am here, I am here to learn and discover exactly why I am here. But what is this one piece of consciousness? Let’s start out with what it isn’t. It can’t be a “piece” of consciousness for as we know or I mean as I know everything is interconnected so that one piece is not one but is one with all in some form, shape, or other. See just how hard it is to try to explain consciousness. It is hard. (more…)

Understanding Vibration Through Sound

Vibration-main-4-postBy Tim Urban

We think of sound as something we hear—something that makes noise. But in pure physics terms, sound is just a vibration going through matter.

The way a vibration “goes through” matter is in the form of a sound wave. When you think of sound waves, you probably think of something like this:

ezgif.com-optimize

But that’s not how sound waves work. A wave like that is called a transverse wave, where each individual particle moves up and down to create a snake situation. (more…)

Paradigm Shift: Scientists Show the Wavelike Nature of Van der Waals Forces

Van-der-Waals-main-4-postby ScienceMag.org

Like the gravitational forces that are responsible for the attraction between the Earth and the moon as well as the dynamics of the entire solar system, there exist attractive forces between objects at the nanoscale. These are the so-called van der Waals forces, which are ubiquitous in nature and thought to play a crucial role in determining the structure, stability and function of a wide variety of molecules and materials.vanderwaals attraction and repulsion

Treating van der Waals interactions as coupling between waves is a paradigm shift for chemistry and materials science.

A group of researchers, led by Alexandre Tkatchenko, Professor at the University of Luxembourg, demonstrated that the true nature of these forces differs from conventional wisdom in chemistry and biology. The scientists showed that these interactions have to be treated as coupling between waves rather than as mutual attraction between particles. “In the simplest case, you can think of two chains of atoms and you could identify points in these chains that are attracted to each other. Typically, you would compute the van der Waals energy by just summing up all these pairs,” explains Alexandre Tkatchenko, Professor of Condensed-Matter Physics at the Faculty of Science, Technology and Communication (FSTC) of the University of Luxembourg. No Big Bang? Universe May Have Existed Forever According To New Theory

No-Big-Bang-main-4-postQuantum equation predicts universe has no beginning or ending

(Phys.org) —The universe may have existed forever, according to a new model that applies quantum correction terms to complement Einstein’s theory of general relativity. The model may also account for dark matter and dark energy, resolving multiple problems at once.

The widely accepted age of the , as estimated by , is 13.8 billion years. In the beginning, everything in existence is thought to have occupied a single infinitely dense point, or . Only after this point began to expand in a “Big Bang” did the universe officially begin.

Although the Big Bang singularity arises directly and unavoidably from the mathematics of general relativity, some scientists see it as problematic because the math can explain only what happened immediately after—not at or before—the singularity.

“The Big Bang singularity is the most serious problem of general relativity because the laws of physics appear to break down there,” Ahmed Farag Ali at Benha University and the Zewail City of Science and Technology, both in Egypt, told Phys.org. (more…)

Can String Theory Unify Physics?

Evidence that the universe is made of strings has been elusive for 30 years,
but the theory’s mathematical insights continue to have an alluring pull

by Brian Greene

In October 1984 I arrived at Oxford University, trailing a large steamer trunk containing a couple of changes of clothing and about five dozen textbooks. I had a freshly minted bachelor’s degree in physics from Harvard, and I was raring to launch into graduate study. But within a couple of weeks, the more advanced students had sucked the wind from my sails. Change fields now while you still can, many said. There’s nothing happening in fundamental physics.

Did CERN Just Discover “NEW WORLDS”?

CERN-Portal-main-4-postWOW! Forget The Higgs Boson & Gravitational Waves! CERN Just Discovered “NEW WORLD”!

Did We Just Get Confirmation Of The Veil Being Breached To Another Dimension?

“A discovery bigger than that of the Higgs Boson & Gravitational Waves…. LETS GET INTO IT!!….

New Scientist reports…

If IT is anything, IT is what Gian Giudice has been waiting for his entire scientific life. “We are not talking about a confirmation of an established theory, but about opening a door into an unknown and unexplored world,” says Giudice, a theoretical particle physicist based at CERN near Geneva, Switzerland.

That’s if it turns out to be anything. At the moment, all we have are hints emerging from the debris of collisions within CERN’s showpiece particle smasher, the Large Hadron Collider. But if those hints firm up in the course of the coming weeks and months, it could be the big one. Forget the Higgs Boson, forget even gravitational waves: 2016 could go down as the year when a new picture of nature’s fundamental workings was unveiled. The hopes spring from two “bumps” that have appeared independently, in the same place, in the latest data from the LHC’s two big detectors, ATLAS and CMS. They point to the existence of a particle that dwarfs even the Higgs Boson, the giver-of-mass particle discovered at CERN in July 2012. CONTINUE READING HERE

Embarrassing Lack of Consensus On Quantum Mechanics

Scientists don’t always agree with each other. Yes, I know; shocking but true. In cases of collegial disagreement, it’s often fun to quantify the extent of opinion by gathering a collection of experts and taking a poll. Inevitably some killjoy will loudly grumble that “scientific questions aren’t decided by voting!”, but that misses the point. A poll of scientists isn’t meant to decide questions, it’s meant to collect data — mapping out the territory of opinion among people who have spent time and effort thinking carefully about the relevant questions.

There’s been a bit of attention given recently to one such poll, carried out by Maximilian Schlosshauer, Johannes Kofler, and Anton Zeilinger at a quantum foundations meeting (see John Preskill at Quantum Frontiers, Swans on Tea). The pollsters asked a variety of questions, many frustratingly vague, which were patiently answered by the 33 participants.

This plot gives the money shot, as they say in Hollywood: (more…)
