At this point, a man who appeared to be about my age entered from a door in the left corner of the room, smiling in a friendly way. Although I had noticed a ladder in that corner which I presumed must lead to an upper deck of the ship, I had seen no door until he entered through it.

Upon his appearance the two girls excused themselves and left through the doorway leading into the control room. Shortly, Ilmuth, the Martian, returned. She had changed from her lovely gown to a pilot’s suit of the same style as that worn by the men. The color was light tan with bands of darker brown at the top and bottom of the waist belt. I was delighted when she asked if I would like to accompany her to the pilot’s compartment.

Firkon joined us and as we three climbed the ladder to the next deck, I noticed Orthon leave through the control room where we had first entered after landing on the mother ship. The elder man and Ramu, the Saturnian, remained in the lounge. (more…)

Our little craft glided down toward the top of the mother ship, very much like an aircraft coming in to land on the deck of an aircraft carrier. As I watched, a curved hatch or opening appeared, reminding me of a great gaping whale. Those who have seen the photographs of this ship will recall that it has a blunt nose sloping slightly downward. This hatch was situated at the far end of the main cylindrical body just before the slope of the nose became perceptible. As we touched down, the Scout moved forward into the hatch, tilting downward as it began its journey into the interior of this mighty ship. Here for the first time I had a feeling of dropping in the pit of my stomach. I imagine this was due to the fact that the Saucer was no longer using its own power but was now subject to the gravity of the mother ship.

We traveled on down at not too steep an angle, the flange of the Scout running on two rails slowly and smoothly, its rate of descent controlled by friction and the magnetism in the flange. Orthon had complete control over this, I found, for once I nearly lost my balance and he stopped the craft momentarily while I regained it. Then the slow, smooth glide continued until we had reached what I judged to be the halfway position between the top and the bottom of the mother ship. Robert O. Dean has been engaged in the field of UFO research for the last 40 years. He began this research on active duty in the US ARMY where he served for 27 years. He retired as Command Sergeant Major from the Army in 1976 as a highly decorated combat veteran after having served as an Infantry Unit Commander in combat in Korea and Vietnam. He also served in Intelligence Field Operations in Laos, Cambodia and North Vietnam.

Additionally, from 1963 to 1967 he served at Supreme Headquarters Allied Powers Europe (SHAPE), NATO as an intelligence analyst with a Cosmic Top Secret clearance. While on this assignment, he helped move the headquarters to the new site in Belgium. Dean worked in the Operations Division and was a member of the inner Command Staff thereby working with and seeing the SACEUR (Supreme Allied Commander Europe) almost every day.

It was while he was stationed at SHAPE that Robert’s interest in UFOs first started. One night, while on duty, Robert removed a file from SHAPE’s security vault called “The Assessment” – An Evaluation of Possible Military Threat to Allied Forces in Europe”. (more…)

The age of SPACE is here. It was ushered in more than a decade ago with electrifying spectacle and provocative fanfare. Strange, cylindrical objects traversed the skies from one end of the globe to the other. Their inscrutable behavior pattern was not only mystifying, it baffled the most discerning minds. It was not easy to accept the possibility that extraterrestrials had entered our atmosphere – that perhaps the sphere-shaped objects had come millions of miles across space from some remote point in our solar system.

As they came in greater numbers the credibility grew on the one hand, skepticism mounted on the other. Time passed and humanity became “thought-divided.” A parallel was seen with the story of the beginning of the Christian Era. Skeptics were ready to throw believers into a den of lions. To extraterrestrials, who comprise the vast majority of intelligent life in this universe, you are an alien. Humans are but one kind in a huge catalog of others. Some alien populations may have compiled catalogs of millions of intelligent species, conceivably more. If and when aliens begin (or began) to electronically / electrogravitically copy other aliens’ catalogs of the sort, the number of entries would have increased exponentially. Depending on the nature of the overlap between galaxies, there could easily be catalogs of trillions of species, or more. In more advanced circles, there could be a shared kind of Universal Report, a complex news briefing that spans incredible distances and puts our national broadcasts to shame. Rather than dwell upon the affairs of one’s own small planet, such aliens could check on the science and doings of other systems, ranging freely and diversely. (more…)

The deep glistening sky of the night before, with its sparkling stars against the azure and the philosophic mood it had produced, was still on my mind. Astronomers had just come to the conclusion that there may be billions of galaxies beyond our own jeweled Milky Way, and physicists had simultaneously broken the atom and found it to be a veritable solar system in miniature. Could these two extensions of science in such opposite directions solve the riddle of life? Would we finally know the whence, why, and whither of our existence? Is the electron after all the philosopher’s stone, the cornerstone on which all this glistening structure is built? Is our earth a small grain of mortar in that magnificent edifice? What form does that cosmic building finally have? Does it resemble a towering mountain? Or a roaring sea? Or maybe it has the form of an animal? And what about the electrons, which resemble miniature planets? Are they inhabited by a minute humanity of our own intellectual and evolutionary standards? I sank deeper and deeper into my questioning meditation. I started to feel one with that enormous cosmic structure, and one with that infinitesimally small, miniature human creature existing on one of the electrons, maybe in my own little finger. (more…)

Air Marshal Sir Peter Horsley, former Deputy Commander-in-Chief of Strike Command, has flown 90 types of aircraft, ranging from the Mosquito (in the Second World War), to the Spitfire, Meteor, Hunter, Lightning and Vulcan. He spent seven years in the service of Her Majesty the Queen and HRH Prince Philip as Equerry, and it was during this period that he had an experience which had a profound effect on him – an encounter with an apparently extraterrestrial being.

In his fascinating autobiography, Sounds From Another Room, Sir Peter devotes a lengthy chapter to the subject of UFOs, including details of his investigations into sightings reported by pilots; details which he relayed to Prince Philip, who shared his interest in the phenomenon. Another enthusiast was Air Chief Marshal Sir Arthur Barratt, who retired from the RAF at the end of the war. Barratt introduced Sir Peter to a friend of his, a General Martin, who believed that flying saucers were extraterrestrial vehicles from another planet whose inhabitants were trying to warn us of the perils of nuclear war.
